BIOGRAPHY
My name is Jessica Wilson. I am thirty years old, I have an amazing husband of seven years, and we have a beautiful three year old little boy. Family is very important to me and I have enjoyed growing ours here in Big Rapids, Michigan for the past twelve years. I graduated from Ferris State University with my first degree in 2010. Proving to be a difficult time in the job market, I took my experience in the restaurant industry and used that to work my way up very quickly as the general manager of a local restaurant, Pepper's Cafe & Deli. The owners of Pepper's moved out of state about six months after I started working there, leaving me in charge of running their business. In the next three and a half years, I developed my managerial skills as well as performing a business analysis and implementing the suggested changes. In December of 2014, I decided it was time for me to go back to school. I was enrolled at Ferris State University, and began classes the following month. After my first semester, I knew that I had made the right decision in going back to school to earn a degree that would allow me to take something I loved and turn it into a career. The past two years have been extremely challenging, going to school full time, being a wife and mother, and handling a part time job on top of it all. I was determined to do well, and made school a top priority, which has allowed me to earn a spot on the Dean's List every semester with a 3.82 GPA. I am excited to complete my second degree in December of 2016 and continue my accounting career in the Big Rapids/Grand Rapids area.
